The Mafia Boss Watched His Baby Slowly Die — Until A Poor Nurse Found The Truth Hidden Inside The Hospital

PART 4

The waiting room emptied, leaving only Weston, Priya, and the sleeping baby.

Weston crossed to her. The dangerous, terrifying man was gone, leaving only a grateful father. He stroked Owen’s cheek, then looked up.

“You saved my world,” he murmured, closing the distance between them.

Priya smiled, didn’t step back. “I was doing my job. Someone needed to protect the little man.”

“You did far more than that. You confronted a killer. You confronted me.” He cupped her face, thumb tracing her jaw. “I owe you a life debt. Name your price. Anything.”

Priya looked into the face of the most dangerous man in Chicago, and saw past the empire and the violence to something fierce and protective that mirrored her own.

“I think,” she whispered as he leaned closer, “you’re going to have to keep me around to make sure you stay out of trouble.”

Weston smiled — rare, genuine, lighting up his dark eyes.

“I believe that can be arranged.”

Three months later, the Kade Pediatric Wing opened at St. Jude Memorial, fully funded by Weston and directed by its newly appointed head of nursing, Priya Osei.

Owen Kade had grown into a thriving, boisterous infant — safe in his father’s arms, watched over always by the fearless woman who had become the heart of their family.

THE END.
