The Mafia Boss Thought A Maid’s Daughter Was Just A Poor Child — Until Her Old Doll Exposed The Crime That Haunted Him For Years.
PART 7
At three fifteen, the school called. A woman claiming to be Priya’s sister had tried to sign Wren out early.
Weston reached the school first. When Wren saw him, she ran to him.
“They said a bad lady came for me.”
“You’re safe.”
“Are you scared?”
“No.”
“You look scared.”
“I promise no one will take you.”
Back at the estate, Priya placed the doll on Weston’s desk. “I repaired this seam after Owen died. Ellie — Wren had torn it on a nail.”
He carefully cut the red thread. Inside the stuffing was a small plastic key wrapped in wax paper.
Silas inserted it into an isolated laptop. Shipping records. Bank transfers. A video Owen had made the night before he died.
“My name is Owen Osei. If anyone is watching this, I’m probably dead. Marchetti Freight is moving explosives and weapons through the terminal. Paul Reyes ordered me to alter safety inspections. I refused. I found records linking Reyes to the vehicle used in the bombing that killed Odalys and Nadia Kade.”
Weston’s fingers curled against the desk.
“I’m sending copies to an investigator and hiding the original where my wife won’t know to look. Priya, if you ever see this, I’m sorry. Wren, Daddy loves you more than all the lights in the sky.”
Wren touched the screen. “Daddy?”
Silas spoke quietly. “With this, we can destroy the Marchettis.”
“Bring me Silas Marchetti,” Weston said.
Priya stood. “No.”
