The Mafia Boss Hunted Down The Woman Who Left Him — Then Three Little Faces Revealed The Family Secret He Never Knew

PART 4

Inside, three faces looked up. “Are you Mama’s friend?” asked the girl with warm brown eyes.

“An old friend,” Wren said.

“I’m Nadia. That’s Owen, and that’s Priya.”

Weston sat on the floor. Nadia moved closer immediately. Owen shifted backward, lining up small cars by color. After several minutes, he placed a blue car closer to the stranger.

“You made Mama cry again,” Owen — no, the boy speaking was Priya. Let me keep it simple: the boy said, “You made Mama cry again.”

“It’s true,” Weston said.

“Did you say sorry?”

“Yes.”

“Did she forgive you?”

“No.”

“Then saying sorry did not fix it.”

“Sometimes sorry is only the beginning,” Weston said.

When the hour ended, Weston negotiated with Wren in the hallway. “The rent. Only the amount owed,” she said.

“Six months forward.”

“No.”

“Two, and I pay the medical balance.”

“You do not get to arrive after four years and take over.”

“I am not trying to take over. I am trying to contribute. Tell me the terms.”

“You control access to the children. I do not appear unannounced,” he continued. “In return, you let me make sure they have food, medical care, and a secure home.”

“The caseworker is coming at nine.”

“I’ll be here at eight-thirty.”

At the landing, he turned back. “You raised three remarkable children by yourself. Whatever you think of me, never doubt what that says about you.”
